Hi Asgard, i know a cool website - http://www.freestockmusic.com/
They make their own instrumental music in different genres, pop, rock stuff. And all of this is totally free, you just need to register there.
And i use my music, stored on my computer, don't know if it's prohibited, but i do only for myself, not for commercial use
@Mandy
But what about copyrights? I heard something like they could ban your video on youtube if you use such music in your videos, don't know if it's true...
Sure the do, Shiny, you just don't need to upload it on youtube is you do slideshows for yourself
Don't know if it is what you're looking for, but i've found this website https://soundcloud.com/groups/free-music-samples
@Mandy
Gosh, they post some pretty gross stuff there. Such tracks as "BE NICE 2 CATS - SITTIN' ON THE TOILET", well, I guess you have to look through a lot to find something suitable
Yeah, Shiny_Star, i agree
But it is what i've found, i'm pretty sure that there're a lot of other websites with free music
In my humble opinion, there should be a selection of ambient music clips provided with the program! I honestly think that music clips are an essential part of a slideshow program and are just as vital as effects and transitions!
Good point, we'll try to add a music collection in future updates.
By the way, there's already a WAV sounds collection in the slide editor (Sounds tab > Audio Collection), with all sorts of sound effects.
Has anyone ever tried this site?
I've just discovered it.
Looks pretty good, wide selection of music, OK for personal use (family and friends).

That's my general source for ambient music. But there are other genres as well

isn't the music there too much old-fashioned?
as for me, it will do for a horror movie, but not for a slideshow.
Tastes differ, they say.
Check out this one:

Some good tracks here, thanks Diana!
Just came across this site and wanted to share: http://jamendo.com
Tons of tracks available for free download, and the licensing is very clear: they show you what you are allowed to do with the track as you click on the download button.
Most will say:
You can copy, distribute, advertise and play this track as long as you:
- Give credit to the artist
- Don't use this album for commercial purposes
And for the others, you have the same as above plus an opportunity to purchase a special license for professional use.
They even have a team of composers on their site as they say, so you can order music to be made exclusively for you! Not sure how much it would cost, though...
Thanks for the extra information on Jamendo Toni, very useful!
Why not create a new topic with all the links in one post?

Perhaps, we shall wait fo a larger number of them?
http://soundimage.org/ is an excellent free music resource kindly suggested by Eric Matyas.
