Hello to everyone!
I've been closely acquainted with slideshow apps (Prezi, Magix photostory and etc.) since my grad school. It always cost me a lot of time and patience to make a satisfying slideshow. Now I work for a local trading company and must make business slideshows on daily basis. Actually it's not much fun because it's all about figures and percentages. I was looking for smth easier to master and more likely to entertain. So far Smartshow3D is great! I'm still in the process of discovering its opportunities but I've already made a few slidehsow projects from my girlfriend's photos. At first, keyframes're pain to understand but now I get used to them and can add some cool effects.

I have been making slideshows for the last 10-12 years . Mostly of vacations we take with another couple . Have used Roxio, Nero and Adobe elements. I have so far liked the SS 3D much better as the elements are all there that I like to use. I just have to practice using them. I really like the 5 minute, just wonder if I could do that without the templates.
A second question. We went to Yellowstone (photographers paradise) last summer and I took over 1500 shots and the show will use most (1000 to 1200) of them as they want to see it all. How much should I expect to get on a DVD with this program? With other programs 500 is about the max.
Also I like the idea of a forum to share these ideas. I am on so many woodworking forums I am running out of available time to do this.
       Gerald

I fully understand that Lesley, which is why I suggested providing a paid for package! The price would need to cover any personal use clauses. I'm not talking a huge amount, about 5 or six ambient tracks would be enough to provide a starter!

I'm not almighty William, but I'll certainly forward the idea to the project manager As a matter of fact, we have already received a few requests regarding a basic music collection, and that's on our updates plan along with bug fixes and new features.
Nevertheless, most people will still prefer to use their favorite music for personal projects. The copyright issue is truly painful here, especially if you wish to upload video to YouTube, Vimeo and like. Fortunately, YouTube will offer you to replace a proprietary soundtrack with one from their collection.

Unless the site you download the music from actually states that the downloadable content is public domain (free for non commercial use), it is probably copyright. You can use any downloadable content for your own personal use, but should not post that content online or distribute it far and wide, because you could be falling foul of the law!

William.

PS: Maybe Lesley can convince the developers to either provide a selection of ambient music as an update, or as downloadable packs (for a reasonable price)? This is the one area where 3D SlideShow can be improved, and leave the competitors behind!
