Is there an alternative way of putting in a pause to what Igruber1 mentioned?

I want to animate a slide and then want to give it a pause for about 3 sec. before the transition starts.

Currently I am not able to do this..the slide animates and immediately the transition starts and next slides is shown.

I want a little pause after each slide. Please help!
